Same. I had to look up used Yarii. The cheapest ones go for about $5,500.... Buy a Yaris, a sawzall, some tires, and suspension and probably a roll cage, and you have a fun track car....

Never tell anyone, especially the interwebs, but I did it with a rust free 2002 back in '01 (flame suit on). Painted it flat black, welded the doors shut and treated the city of Denver like my own personal autocross course

MY GOD, I need pictures of that. I own a 71 2002 and I just want to see the potential of the car. Not that I would destroy it in any way, but the damn thing is a (possibly in the right hands) tail-happy go cart.

Dude, look at it. You could probably get the weight down under 2,000lbs and some quick bolt on could probably get it to around 100whp. The engine is already torquey. Those Spec Mazda 2s and Minis look fun and this would be at least that good being an open cockpit. I generally hate FWD, but this would be something at least unique and just maybe, fun.
